I am looking for a recipe for “apples in robe” or “yabluchka very schlafrochkach” as we called them when I was a child. These are apple circles dipped in a batter that is a cross between a crepe batter and a fritter. They were not deep fried but rather made in a flat panel or griddle. They were served with sprinkling of sugar.

I want to make them for my grandson.

    Hi Zorianna:

What you’re looking at on this page is the recipe from my German heritage. Apparently my wife’s aunt does know how to make the dish you’re talking about, and she can probably show me how the next time I see her (later this summer).
