Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

One more item in the things-to-make category, Banana Chocolate Chip cookies from an unknown cookbook via Cullen Cavallaro.

– 3 c flour
– 4.5 t baking powder
– 1 t baking soda
– 1.5 t salt
– 1 c butter
– 0.75 c sugar
– 0.5 c light brown sugar, packed
– 1 egg
– 1 t vanilla or orange extract
– 1 c mashed banana
– 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
– 1 c chopped walnuts or pecans

Heat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, stir together first four (dry) ingredients. Set aside. Beat together butter and sugars. Add egg and vanilla, beating well. Blend in banana. Add dry ingredients, blending well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-14 minutes. Cool on racks. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
